Watch the trailer
for your film. Argue how the trailer conforms to (or subverts) the conventions
of the genre (300 words):
From watching the trailer I have noticed how it
conforms and subverts from the conventions of the the genre. In the beginning
of the trailer it shows the history of when the cast were younger and basically
what it does is tell the plot from a different time. It shows them getting
drunk and falling over which conforms well to the comedy side of it. After it
shows them in the future and they are all separated which kind of subverts from
the comedy because you would think they are all in one big comedic group
together because they are what make it funny. It does however show Simon Pegg
going around asking them to join him on a mission they call “The Golden Mile”
but he does it ecstatically which conforms with comedy genre. Later On in the
trailer it shows the group going to their old hometown and meeting all the people,
but something is up with them, for example the people in the town are all
walking in sync with each other which adds to the sci-fi because they are
walking like robots. Not long after that it shows the people lighting up with a
blinding blue glow and emitting a strange noise. This strongly conforms to the
Sci-fi
